The Yorkshire Dales are home to some of the most beautiful and varied, as well as some of the rarest, wildflowers in the UK, thanks to the lime-rich soils of this amazing Karst environment.

These informal guided wildflower walks are aimed at those who’d like to get their ‘eye in’ and expand their knowledge of the wildflowers of the Yorkshire Dales and their whereabouts. Learning materials for aiding identification will be provided and shared on the day, and the emphasis will very much be on slowing down the pace and carefully exploring an area to see what we can find.

Details of meeting location and venue will be provided closer to the time, but will be in the Settle and Three Peaks area unless otherwise stated (i.e. within 20-30mins drive of Settle). Full details including kit lists of what to bring (footwear and clothing suitable for hiking), directions and medical forms will be provided upon booking.

COVID-19 special terms: In the event of a local (to your area of residency or Yorkshire Dales Guides area of business) or national government lockdown meaning you cannot attend, or we cannot run the session, you will be entitled to a full refund or to transfer your ticket across to a future session (within 24 months) free of charge.

Minimum age normally 7-8 yrs (or younger if parents willing to carry). We will be venturing onto lanes, up small hills and into woodland, so the sessions are not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs. No refunds.

Our adventure caving trips provide a brilliant opportunity to explore deeper into the underground world, whether you are new to caving, or have been caving before and want to progress to the next level. These caving trips will include a vertical section to be negotiated on ladder and lifeline, with magnificent sights to reward the extra effort! We supply all the kit required for this amazing experience including caving oversuit, fleece undersuit, helmet and light, harness and wellies.

The day will begin by meeting at our outdoor activity barn near Stainforth at 9.00am. Here you will be briefed by your highly experienced instructor about the day and then kitted out with all the required caving equipment before following the instructor in your car to the parking location for the caves. It will then be a short walk of around 10-25mins to the caves, depending on venue and you should expect a caving trip in the region of 2-3hrs duration. After the trip, you can return to our barn to change before departing.

More information will be provided following booking, including directions, kit lists, more information about the day and medical forms.

Please note that the sun doesn't always shine in the Yorkshire Dales, and we cannot offer refunds in the event of a cancellation due to particularly adverse weather conditions. However, we do have a range of excellent and exciting venues we can use and so we will do our very best to choose a suitable venue for the day in the event of bad weather.
