Our instructors are all local, qualified and very experienced cavers. They have a thorough knowledge of how weather conditions can effect the cave systems.
SRT WORKSHOPS
These workshops last for 3 ½ hours and are held in the mornings or afternoons. They are for cavers to come for some advice on optimising their SRT kit for themselves for efficiency as well as practicing their techniques with very experienced caving instructors on hand for advice. Price £ 35.00 per person.
All courses below run for full days (approx. 7 hours). Price £ 70.00 per person.
For the all the courses below - If you have three to four people we can arrange a day to suit your needs.
The cost for this would be £210.00 for the whole group.
INTRODUCTION TO VERTICAL CAVING: (Instructor ratio normally 1:6)
For those with very limited or no previous experience. Learn and practice skills with a ladder in the safety of the Barn before going on an extended caving trip. Using ladder and safety line techniques allows you to explore deeper into cave systems.
INTRODUCTION TO SRT DAY: (instructor ratio normally 1:6)
This indoor course is for people with little or no experience of using SRT (Single Rope Technique). Familiarisation with the kit
Learning Good Habits, Basic Techniques using the low and high platforms, traversing bar and rigging bar
ADVANCED SRT DAY: (instructor ratio normally 1:4)
This indoor techniques course will suit those who want to go beyond the basics and become more self-reliant on their own skills. Setting up the kit for your own personal preference to make your technique more efficient, Pitch head approach, Traversing, Deviations, Rigging techniques
