A new fully kitted out SRT Rigging Barn is our latest development for teaching vertical caving techniques.
The Barn facilities include 3 Platforms, a Rigging Bar, a Traversing bar, a Tyrolean and Ladder Rigging.
Learn how to SRT in a safe, dry environment so your first trip underground you can put your skills into action knowing that you have practiced the basics already. Kitting up correctly, Getting on and off pitches, re-belays, change overs, traversing and even passing knots.
If you have already got the basics - then come and refresh your skills and refine them. Optimise your kits performance by getting it set up correctly for you. Practice the skills you may only need when things are not straight forward such as change overs and passing knots. Practice self rescue techniques. All instruction given by a CIC and SRT kit provided for those who need it.
With our new indoor facilities near Stainforth we are also able to offer team activities indoors as well as outdoors. With the activities being inside they can go on whatever the weather. There is a small Bouldering Wall, Ringing the Bell and other low level tasks. This means that we can provide all year activity days for your group as we can either run the day at the Barn or use the Barn as a wet weather alternative.
